Wireless Music System

5 years ago this would’ve been practically impossible. Wireless music systems were known as wired music systems and cost an arm and a leg to set up – your other limbs went to buying it. A simple all-in-one wireless music system that plays an unlimited number of tracks from an unlimited number of libraries is what we’re faced with today. Simply hook it up to laptops, PCs, Macs, iPads (the list goes on) and play music from anywhere in your house wirelessly. If you have music that is stored electronically, whether it’s on your desktop computer, laptop or even iPad; then you can bet that one of these systems will play it. From iTunes to Spotify and Napster, wherever your music is stored and whatever library it’s kept in, a wireless music system can probably play it! Especially if you’re looking at using the Sonos S5.

Wireless Music System

Of course not all systems come in one size. There are all-in-one units and single unit units that simply require existing audio equipment. Sonos provides a whole range of systems that are manufactured to suit any budget and their models have been getting a lot of great reception, check out these wireless music system reviews. Of course it’s not just the Sonos series that we should be talking about here. For those of you less willing to fork out for the high end Sonos music system, you may want to check out the (slightly ridiculously named) Logitech Squeezebox Boom – but don’t let the name put you off – it looks pretty bad ass – at least technically. You can see the two sound systems have their specs compared right here in this classic Sonos vs Squeezebox review.

The Sonos S5 all-in-one system provides room-filling sound with 2 mid-range drivers, 2 tweeters and a bass driver giving you pitcher perfect sounds (see what I did there?…). And it’s not just music from your library that it can play; it also has access to over 100,000 podcasts and radio stations – not that you’d have the patience to check if that’s true – and its ability to synch wirelessly with other systems to play identical or different tracks, songs and playlists in different rooms makes this system simply stunning.

Models like the Sonos S5, also have a free iPhone app developed to act as a remote control that allows you to control the wireless music system from a very slick electronic display. They’ve taken it one step further with the iPad application and thrown in full navigation functionality that gives you absolute control over the system.
